WHY BREAK INTO FICTION?

You can’t break out as a writer until you break into publishing. You can’t break into the best-selling ranks until you can create a strong, memorable novel. Then be able to repeat the process.
Included in this workshop are 11 templates explained in clear, example-driven details. Each template will focus on the intention of YOUR story’s structure from opening scene to ending sentence.
Fundamentals covered include: strong characters, inner conflict, external conflict, plot layers, backstory, raising stakes and much more.
Writers of commercial fiction who wish to plot bigger, more consistent, and stronger stories whether  prepublished, published or multi-published will find the Break Into Fiction® character driven process invaluable. Be prepared for an idea-packed, career enriching experience.
This workshop is as ideal for those just beginning a new project as it is for those embarking on a revision of a completed work. While writers at all levels of craft are welcome, a basic understanding of fiction craft will prepare you to jump in from day one.
“You’ve shown me the big picture and how to break it down into smaller steps. I know I will use these templates on every novel I plot in the future to save myself a lot of rewrites and frustration. I’ve been working on my current WIP for five years off and on, but I know it’s going down the right path to completion now.” ~ Anne

SEE WHAT FORMER STUDENTS HAVE TO SAY

“I was ready to give up. I didn’t think I’d ever understand how to write a novel. A quality novel. Now I do. You gave me a new lease on my writing life. I can’t thank you enough.” ~ Mary S.
“I’ve taken about six different plotting classes, none of them worked for me. Mary is a miracle worker. Don’t hesitate to put your story into her capable hands. Yes, I’m converted and brainwashed, but I’m loving it.”
~ Nancy
“I am inspired AND re-energized. As much as I’ve wanted to write fiction, and as much as I’ve studied the writing of fiction, it never made much sense to me until now. You have so much information to share, and you are a master at sharing it. Thanks so much for putting this together for us.” ~ Mary N.
